Base score is only the baseline
The list below ranks words by standard tile value before double-letter, triple-letter, double-word, triple-word, cross-word, or bingo bonuses. Your actual board can completely reorder the best plays.
Premium access changes everything
A compact play that places J, Q, X, or Z on a premium letter square can beat a longer word. Compare legal placements instead of assuming the first high-value candidate is the best move.
Do not ignore the rack leave
A few extra points may not justify keeping an inflexible collection of tiles. Strong decisions balance immediate score, the letters left behind, and the opening offered to an opponent.
